Job summary

GATX Corporation is seeking a Sr. Continuous Improvement Process Lead to manage Lean Six Sigma projects across US/Canada rail service centers. You will identify opportunities, lead improvement efforts, and drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics using data-driven problem solving.

Hybrid role with travel up to 30% and a strong partnership with engineering. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering or related field, 7+ years in operations/CI, and Lean Six Sigma Belt.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of shop floor supervisory/operations management/value stream management experience.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification preferred.
• Project Management certification and experience a plus.
• Experience in a low-volume/high-mix industry preferred.
• Travel up to 30% across the United States and Canada.
• Hybrid position: work in the office at least 60% of days in a month.

Responsibilities

• Support Lean Six Sigma training and annual goal deployment.
• Develop, implement and train CI Programs (5S, Kaizen, Hoshin Kanri, VSM, A3).
• Lead improvement initiatives and remove inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
• Maintain DVM boards and audit SWI, implement mitigation plans.
• Support cross-functional CI initiatives and RC/CA follow-through.
• Collaborate with Engineering to simplify and standardize processes.
