Job summary

Root is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Build & Deploy team. You will design and build CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, and release systems that enable engineers to ship confidently, while partnering with product teams to remove delivery friction.

With 4+ years as a software engineer, you will troubleshoot complex failures, drive durable solutions, and lead large initiatives from problem definition through delivery.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a software engineer with CI/CD/build/release experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex failures across systems.
• Proven track record shipping durable solutions independently.
• Ability to plan and drive large initiatives from problem definition to delivery.
• Strong collaboration with engineers across teams and clear written communication.
• Experience with Buildkite or a comparable CI/CD platform.
• Experience with Ruby, Terraform, AWS, or Docker.
• Experience building internal tools or platforms for engineers.
• Experience with deployment safety, rollback systems, or release orchestration.
