Energy Jobline ZR in Miami, FL is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer to oversee the engineering and technical operations of a large occupied Class A commercial office property. You will manage central plant systems, BAS, emergency power, life-safety systems, and tenant service.

The ideal candidate has direct experience operating a 300,000+ SF building, leads engineering staff, coordinates vendors, and ensures safe, compliant operations, including after-hours emergencies and severe weather events.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Certification is required.
• Direct Class A office building leadership experience is required.
• Experience operating a 300,000+ SF building is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of central plant systems and BAS (Niagara and/or Lynxspring).
• Experience with generators, electrical switching, fire/life-safety, and hurricane response.
• Experience managing staff, vendors, contractors, work orders, invoices, budgets, and maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily engineering and technical operations for a large Class A property.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain central plant equipment (chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and VAVs).
• Monitor BAS and coordinate with property management and tenants.
• Oversee generators, electrical switching, fire/life-safety systems, and stair pressurization.
• Lead and supervise building engineering staff.
• Manage outside vendors, contractors, service providers, and major maintenance projects.
• Review work orders, invoices, contractor proposals, and maintenance schedules.
• Assist with operating budgets, capital planning, equipment replacements, and major repairs.
• Coordinate building shutdowns and service interruptions with minimal tenant impact.
• Respond to after-hours HVAC requests, tenant concerns, outages, emergencies, and other critical issues.
• Provide strong customer service to commercial tenants and work closely with property management.
• Respond effectively to major outages, severe weather, and other emergency situations.
• Maintain a safe, compliant, and reliable operating environment for the property.
