Job summary

Schlumberger Limited is seeking a Senior Chemist/Engineer to support Pilot Plant operations in Sugar Land. The role combines hands-on chemistry, QA, pilot plant support and project management to ensure product quality, process reliability and safe scale-up.

The successful candidate will work with RD&E and Pilot Plant teams to transfer new products to manufacturing, manage data in SAP, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining strong safety adherence and communication across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or related field with three years of relevant work experience or MS with two years of relevant work experience
• Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and analytical techniques
• Experience with quality control processes and data management
• Familiarity with quality management systems or software
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to safety and operational excellence
• Strong ownership of quality systems and data integrity
• Proactive troubleshooting and continuous improvement mindset

Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance & Analytical Support: develop and improve product quality control specs, processes and procedures; manage quality data in SAP; conduct analyses to ensure compliance during scale-up and production trials
• Pilot Plant Scale‑Up Support: assist pilot operations from lab to manufacturing transfer; evaluate material availability and use SAP to set up materials; translate lab-scale chemistry to scalable processes
• Operational Excellence & Equipment Management: maintain lab and pilot instrumentation; identify opportunities for process optimization
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Research, Supply Chain and Manufacturing; communicate findings through reports and procedures
• Safety, Regulatory Compliance & Continuous Improvement: adhere to safety and regulatory requirements; participate in risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives
