Job summary

SGS is a trusted global leader in inspection, verification, testing and certification services. This role focuses on analysis of crude oil, fuels, and petrochemicals, with hands-on bench work and supervision responsibilities for Laboratory Technicians.

Candidates should have a Master’s degree in Chemistry (or related) and 7+ years in a laboratory setting, along with strong knowledge of ASTM standards and the ability to work with various chemical products.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemistry or related science required.
• 5+ years in a regulated commercial lab environment recommended.
• 1+ year of protocol and report writing experience required.
• 7+ years of laboratory experience required.
• Knowledge of ASTM standards is necessary.
• Ability to work with chemical, petrochemical and petroleum products.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory analysis on samples (hands-on bench work).
• Maintain current with laboratory safety and reporting techniques.
• Guide and train Laboratory Technicians, potentially supervising staff.
• Operate gas chromatographs and other relevant laboratory equipment.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability in all test results.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
