American Electric Power is seeking a Chemist to perform routine and complex chemical analyses, trending, troubleshooting, and data collection under supervision. The role requires monitoring boiler water, wastewater, drinking water, scrubber, and cooling tower chemistry, with responsibilities including sampling, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

You will train and supervise junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualificações

Bachelor degree in science or related field.
Minimum four years’ related experience including three years as a Chemist I.
Valid state driver’s license.

Responsabilidades

Coordinate all activities pertaining to the Laboratory and maintain equipment.
Follow unit guidelines with minimal supervision.
Install, operate, calibrate, and maintain test equipment.
Perform analyses and prepare reports to support changing lab conditions.
Collect and evaluate data to comply with environmental regulations.
Ensure compliance with EH&S programs and document calibration records.
Operate plant sewage and water treatment facilities and monitor related equipment.
Draw chemicals, track inventory, and set feed rate adjustments.
Write procedures and conduct safety and energy-related job analyses.
