Job summary

Octant Associates LLC seeks a Chemical Security and Elimination SME to strengthen partner nations' capabilities within the DTRA GTR program. The role emphasizes chemical detection, field analysis, sampling, decontamination, and incident response readiness.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in CWMD/CBRN, advanced chemistry knowledge, and training on CBRN detection systems, with the ability to produce executive-ready analyses and training materials.

Qualifications

• 10+ years CWMD/CBRN experience or related education.
• Advanced understanding of chemistry fundamentals.
• Formal operator training of CBRN Detection and Identification Systems (IMS, PID, FTIR, Raman, GC/MS, LC/MS).
• Familiarity with CWAs, 4th Generation Agents, and delivery systems.
• Ability to integrate chemical safety and elimination into readiness frameworks.
• Ability to prepare instructional content and review training materials.
• Proficient in staffing processes and decision-support materials.
• Experience writing technical comments and reports for senior leaders.
• Attention to detail and strong communication in client delivery.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools.
• Eligible for DoD SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical response capability assessments for foreign partners and support country projects.
• Respond to real-time chemical security questions and requirements from DTRA clients and partners.
• Support documentation and metrics development (spend plans, POM inputs, performance metrics).
• Support country assessments and validation of project metrics.
• Conduct chemical security vulnerability assessments and training needs analysis.
• Advise on strategy development, acquisition planning, and sustainment approaches.
• Develop statements of work, cost estimates, and technical evaluations.
• Develop sustainment frameworks for post-implementation success.
• Provide staff products (papers, memos, talking points, briefings).
• Coordinate with U.S. Government personnel, contractors, and foreign representatives.
• Coordinate travel logistics and support travel-related work.
• Contribute to trip books and after-action reports.
