Job summary

The Red Gate Group is seeking a Chemical Security & Elimination SME to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. You will apply deep chemical defense expertise to advise partner nations, shape capability development, and guide complex threat reduction initiatives.

Your work will influence operational planning, acquisition strategy, and international capacity building for national security objectives. Preferred candidates bring 5+ years CWMD/CBRN experience, DoD SECRET clearance, and strong

Qualifications

• 5+ years CWMD/CBRN experience and/or education.
• Foundational understanding of chemistry fundamentals.
• Familiarity with CBRN detection and identification systems (IMS, PID, FTIR, Raman, GC/MS, LC/MS).
• Knowledge of CWAs, PBAs, threats, and delivery systems.
• Understanding of chemical transport regulations (IATA, CFR 49, ADR).
• Ability to integrate chemical safety into operational risk frameworks.
• Experience producing senior-ready written products.
• Strong analytical and independent work capability.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Active DoD SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical advisory to senior DoD officials.
• Develop and deliver high-level briefings translating chemical threat issues into guidance.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and capability evaluations for partner nations.
• Lead requirements and strategy for chemical security, elimination, and UXO response.
• Support program management including SOWs, IGCEs, source selection, and technical evaluations.
• Develop program documentation and budgeting materials for OSD and DTRA.
• Coordinate with analysts on budget development, cost/performance analysis, and regulatory compliance.
• Engage with US government and international stakeholders to advance mission execution.
• Support OCONUS engagements (travel ~25%).
• Write mission-impact papers, memos, talking points, and briefs.
