Placements24 is seeking a Senior Chemical Project Engineer to lead capital projects in a hybrid setup. The role covers full lifecycle from concept through commissioning across our chemical facilities. Strong background in design, procurement, and execution is essential.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate 8+ years in chemical process projects, leadership, and proven ability to deliver on time and within budget. PE certification is advantageous.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in project engineering and management within chemical/process industries.
• Proven track record delivering complex capital projects.
• Strong understanding of chemical processes, P&IDs, PFDs, and equipment specs.
• Experience with project management methodologies and software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Familiarity with contract management and procurement processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a hybrid environment.

About the Role Our client, a rapidly expanding chemical solutions provider, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Chemical Project Engineer to join their team in Paarl, Western Cape . This role is pivotal in managing and executing capital projects related to new plant construction, expansions, and equipment upgrades within our chemical manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management, chemical process design, and a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining the need for on-site project oversight with the flexibility of remote work for planning and reporting. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization and feasibility studies through to commissioning and handover. This is a challenging yet rewarding role for a driven engineer.

Key Responsibilities
