Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer for onsite manufacturing in High Point, NC. The role covers design, optimization, scale-up, and continuous improvement of chemical processes supporting transfer from R&D to production.

The candidate will lead process design reviews, support safety studies, and supervise documentation and CAD/P&IDs. A 5+ year track record in chemical processing is required, with relocation to High Point, NC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years experience in chemical processing industry or manufacturing.
• Experience in process engineering, design, optimization or development within manufacturing.
• Experience with root cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Ability to author, modify, and interpret CAD drawings and P&IDs.
• Willingness to relocate and work onsite in High Point, NC.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical manufacturing processes to meet production goals and quality standards.
• Perform daily field walks to verify equipment status and support commissioning.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, quality to implement changes.
• Conduct process design and equipment design reviews.
• Facilitate technology transfer and scale-up from lab to commercial manufacturing.
• Write and maintain batch procedures and manufacturing docs.
• Apply statistical analysis and SPC to monitor process performance.
• Support Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and HAZOP studies.
• Develop and interpret CAD drawings and P&IDs for processes and equipment.
• Support plant utilities and automated process controls.
