Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Chassis Mechanical Engineer in Michigan to lead production chassis design from concept through launch. You will set requirements, drive roadmaps, mentor the team, and coordinate with suppliers, CAE, and manufacturing for robust integration.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in automotive chassis design, a Mechanical Engineering degree, strong CAD skills (CATIA V5/V6), and willingness to travel up to 20%. Excellent compensation and growth opportunities provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years automotive chassis design experience.
• Experience releasing components from concept to production.
• Hands-on prototype assembly, development, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of chassis structural components from concept to production.
• Define requirements based on performance, durability, ride, handling, NVH and safety targets.
• Develop technology roadmaps and identify innovative solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers.
• Coordinate with suppliers and CAE for robust integration.
• Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing.
• Maintain DVP&R, DFMEA, interface and boundary diagrams.
• Champion AI- and data-driven engineering methods.
• Support joining/manufacturing technologies and system selection decisions.
