HumanitApp is sourcing senior character animators to help define what a well-transferred performance looks like for a cutting-edge GenAI model. You will set quality standards, review model outputs and build benchmarks to test robustness across body mechanics, facial nuances, timing and emotion.

The role involves shaping reviewer rubrics and collaborating with experts to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as a hands-on character animator at Senior/Lead/Principal level.
• Credits on feature films, VFX features or AAA game cinematics at recognized studios.
• Strong eye for micro expressions, lip sync, weight and timing.
• Facial animation experience and real-time engines (Unreal/Unity), VR/XR, or performance capture pipelines.
• Hands-on use of generative image and video tools (Sora, Veo, Midjourney, Runway, Kling).
• Able to work on-site in Playa Vista (Los Angeles), CA or New York, NY for in-person sessions once or twice a month.
• Strong written communication to translate visual detail into evaluation templates.

Responsibilities

• Set the quality bar: Define clear standards for when a performance has been carried over well across body mechanics, facial nuance, timing and emotional intent, and identify gaps in current evaluations.
• Critique model outputs: Review generated performances shot by shot and write precise, actionable notes.
• Build benchmarks: Choose reference performances ranging from easy to hard to ensure robust testing of the model.
• Shape the reviewer pool: Define profiles, rubrics and calibration for human reviewers who score outputs at scale.
• Collaborate with other experts to keep evaluations consistent and accurate.
