Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY seeks a perfusion technologist to support cardiopulmonary bypass duties, under general supervision. You will assess patient needs, plan and implement care, and operate the heart-lung machine during surgical procedures.

The ideal candidate holds an NYS perfusion degree or certificate, is ABCP certified and BLS certified, and can work a day shift Monday through Friday in a regular/per diem role.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited NYS college with an Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in perfusion technology or NYS certificate in perfusion technology.
• Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion is required.
• BLS certification is required.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under general supervision, assess, plan and implement the patient care requirements and treatment necessary for cardiopulmonary bypass/assistance before, during and after surgery. Sets up and operates the heart/lung machine. Consults with Physicians and selects appropriate equipment. Performs related duties as required.

SCHEDULE:

6:30 AM-3 PM. Monday-Friday. This is a Regular / Per Diem role.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from an accredited NYS college with an Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree with a major in perfusion technology or graduation from a NYS accredited certificate program in perfusion technology required. Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion is required. BLS is required.
