Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York, seeks an experienced perfusionist to assess, plan and implement cardiopulmonary bypass care before, during and after surgery. You will set up and operate the heart-lung machine and consult with physicians to select the proper equipment.

Requires graduation from an NYS perfusion program with an Associate or Bachelor’s degree, NYS licensure, ABCP certification, and BLS. Work hours are 6:30 AM–3 PM, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Requires NYS perfusion degree or certificate with ABCP certification.
• Certification by American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion required once eligible.
• BLS certification is required.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under general supervision, assess, plan and implement the patient care requirements and treatment necessary for cardiopulmonary bypass/assistance before, during and after surgery. Sets up and operates the heart/lung machine. Consults with Physicians and selects appropriate equipment. Performs related duties as required.

SCHEDULE: 6:30 AM-3 PM. Monday-Friday.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited NYS college with an Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree with a major in perfusion technology or graduation from a NYS accredited certificate program in perfusion technology required. Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion is required, once eligible. BLS is required.
