Job summary

Texas Oncology in Plano Presbyterian is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. This full-time role supports physicians and clinicians with patient care, helps manage exams and procedures, and promotes efficient patient flow within a busy oncology clinic.

The ideal candidate will have a graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program and meet the level 1–3 experience requirements; CPR/BCLS certification is required within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Entry level to five years' experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
• Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• CPR/BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• State regulations may require specific certifications to work as a Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
• Records patient data prior to each physician visit (vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication changes).
• Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answers patient calls and refers to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Performs other administrative duties (typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception).
• May enter orders under a provider’s direction and supervision.
