The Senior Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) at CTEH manages complex industrial hygiene (IH) and building sciences projects, develops personnel, and generates revenue within the Building Sciences division. The candidate should have expertise in industrial hygiene and building-related health and safety, ensuring compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include leading projects from start to finish, addressing scope of work, worker health, site safety, environmental controls, and remediation verification. The role also involves business development, team enhancement, and client relationship management. Good decision-making, creativity, and stakeholder interfacing skills are essential. Preference for candidates in Florida or with credentials for building science tasks in the state. Reports to the Director of Building Sciences, with some travel required.

Activities/Tasks/Scope:

• Lead and manage building sciences and IH projects, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Develop, execute, and manage project plans, including budgets, staffing, and schedules.
• Build relationships with clients and pursue business growth opportunities.
• Manage and mentor a team of IH professionals.
• Provide expertise in building-related health hazards, including air quality and hazardous materials assessments.
• Develop scientific sampling methods for IH and large loss projects.
• Lead proposal development, client communication, and reporting, including presenting findings.
• Prepare scope of work, sampling, remediation, and verification reports.
• Ensure use of best practices and innovative methodologies.
• Identify new business opportunities to generate revenue.
• Maintain equipment and supplies for large loss response.
• Mentor junior staff and stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
• Assist in emergency response evaluations and sampling.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, & Credentials:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) required.
• 8-12 years of experience in industrial hygiene, especially building sciences.
• Master’s degree a plus.
• Florida Mold Assessor License.
• Willingness to obtain Florida Asbestos Consultant License within 12 months.
• Experience managing projects and teams.
• Knowledge of air quality, noise assessments, hazard identification.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
