Salary Range: $56,659.20 - $90,750.40 / Posted Thru: 5/22/2025
Location: Remote/Virtual - Must Live and Work in Michigan
The Industrial Hygienist will assist state and local public health partners in preventing and investigating public health threats such as legionellosis and blastomycosis. Responsibilities include conducting environmental assessments, sampling, reviewing water management programs, and contributing to epidemiologic investigations. The position is within the Bureau of Infectious Disease Prevention's Emerging Infectious Diseases Division.
Bachelor's degree in physical sciences, biological sciences, public health, occupational safety or health, or engineering, with at least 20 semester credits in relevant areas.
One to two years in occupational disease prevention, environmental health law enforcement, or threat investigation.
Moderate physical effort, potential exposure to hazardous environments, and travel requirements. Standard office environment with some field investigations.
This position does not have responsibility for others' work but plays a vital role in public health threat investigation and response.
