Job summary

Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. is seeking a Principal Certification Engineer to lead certification testing expertise and manage complex projects for aircraft interior products.

You will guide engineering teams through design, development and testing/certification and advise on regulatory requirements. Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years in aerospace engineering; 5+ years in engineering or PM in interior products.
• In-depth understanding FAA/EASA Part 21, Part 25; TSO/ETSO processes.
• Advanced knowledge of dynamic and static testing, design, tolerances, electrical engineering, rapid prototyping.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes in aircraft seat industry (machining, casting, forming, etc.).
• Proficiency in concurrent engineering, design for manufacturability and cost principles.
• Strong communication/presentation skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• MS Project, SAP, PLM and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams during design, development and testing/certification.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve design, manufacturing and certification challenges.
• Advise on FAA/EASA compliance, TSO/ETSO requirements.
• Coordinate with global management to align testing processes and best practices.
• Contribute to risk analysis and mitigation plans for technical risks.
• Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements for RECARO seats.
• Develop technical proposals for customers integrating product, regulatory, market and cost factors.
• Support cost reduction and qualification planning for programs.
• Engage with OEMs to resolve testing and engineering issues.
