Job summary

Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. is seeking a Principal Certification Engineer to provide certification testing expertise and lead critical engineering projects for aircraft seating products.

You will oversee complex cost and weight saving initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide design, testing, and certification activities across engineering teams. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in an engineering role in aerospace, with 5 years in engineering or project management for commercial aircraft interiors.
• Deep understanding of FAA / EASA Part 21, Part 25 certification procedures for commercial aircraft seats, including TSO/E-TSO.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams during design, development and testing/certification.
• Lead cross-functional teams and resolve engineering challenges in design, manufacturing and certification.
• Advise on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with TSO/E-TSO and FAA/EASA standards.
• Coordinate with Global Engineering to align testing processes and implement best practices.
• Contribute to risk analysis and mitigation plans, and manage technical risks.
