Howmet Aerospace seeks a Sr. Ceramics Engineer to join the Howmet Research Center in Whitehall, MI. You will serve as a technical expert on ceramic and non-metallic materials used in aerospace investment cast components, overseeing raw material processing, lab testing, and root-cause analysis.

Travel to Howmet and supplier facilities is required, typically under 15% but may vary with business needs. A BS in Materials/ Ceramic Engineering + 10+ years is expected.

Qualifikationen

• ABET-accredited degree in Materials Science/Engineering/Ceramic Engineering with 10+ years experience
• Broad experience in processes and materials used in engineered ceramics
• Familiarity with material testing techniques including optical and electron microscopy, density, particle size, sieve testing, viscosity, MOR and dilatometry
• Ability to communicate with suppliers, production facilities, technical teams, and leadership on projects (in-person, calls, emails, reports)
• Strong reasoning and critical thinking to drive root cause/resolution across diverse areas
• Keep current with industry trends and changes in raw material suppliers
