Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a senior Ceramic Core Process Owner to lead enterprise manufacturing standards across multiple ceramic core facilities. The role requires driving fixed process governance, supplier qualification, and KPI dashboards for process capability and yield.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with operations, quality, and supply chain, and guide continuous improvement in core materials, coatings, and strengthening technologies to maximize casting quality and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years engineering or manufacturing experience in investment casting or ceramic core manufacturing.
• Experience developing engineering specifications, manufacturing standards, or process documentation.
• Strong understanding of SPC, process capability, root cause analysis, and manufacturing quality systems.
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to influence manufacturing organizations and drive enterprise-wide standardization.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SPA for ceramic core manufacturing process control and fixed process governance.
• Establish and maintain standards, best practices, and technical specifications for internal and external ceramic core suppliers.
• Provide technical authority for ceramic core materials, processes, and engineering specifications.
• Champion change management and ensure disciplined execution of standardized manufacturing processes.
• Lead monthly process audits, identify gaps, and report findings to executive leadership.
• Lead improvement initiatives to maximize yield, dimensional capability, strength, and overall performance.
• Develop standardized practices for ceramic core strengthening, impregnation, coatings, and treatments.
• Standardize handling of ceramic cores across wax injection dies and storage/transport/inspection.
• Lead cross-functional best-practice initiatives across multiple locations.
• Evaluate and implement emerging ceramic core technologies and supplier qualification requirements.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor process capability, supplier performance, and yield.
• Support new product introductions ensuring manufacturability and standards.
• Provide technical mentoring to engineers and operations personnel.
• Benchmark industry practices to improve ceramic core technologies and capabilities.
