Job summary

Verdantas in California is seeking an experienced environmental planning professional to join our growing team. This senior CEQA practitioner will independently lead complex environmental reviews, manage multidisciplinary teams, and advise public- and private-sector clients.

The successful candidate will prepare and manage full EIRs from initiation through certification, including scoping, analysis, mitigation, responses to comments, findings, and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related environmental field.
• 10+ years of CEQA experience and environmental planning expertise.
• Ability to independently manage full EIRs from scope to certification.
• Strong knowledge of CEQA statutes, guidelines and CA regulations.
• Proven project management across scopes, budgets, and teams.
• Excellent writing, editing, presentation and client management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and management of CEQA documents including EIRs and related filings.
• Manage complex projects from initiation to completion with scope, schedule and budget responsibility.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams and integrate analyses into CEQA documents.
• Develop environmental review strategies and feasible mitigation measures.
• Lead agency consultation, stakeholder engagement, public meetings and hearings.
• Support client development, proposals, scoping, and QA/QC of studies.
