First Merchants Bank is seeking a Senior Centralized Funding Specialist to support the commercial lending process by reviewing and managing loan documentation, boarding and funding in line with regulatory requirements. This role can be remote within our footprint, and emphasizes collaboration with internal teams and external bank partners.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in loan administration, familiarity with syndicated/participation loans, and a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of loan administrative or operations experience in commercial loans.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt are pluses.
• Experience with syndicated and participation loan transactions.

Responsibilities

• Review commercial loan documentation and determine compatibility with the loan system.
• Coordinate with relationship managers and closers to gather information.
• Oversee funding of new and amended loans ensuring timely disbursement.
• Maintain detailed records in loan systems and databases.
• Guide team members on loan documentation, boarding and funding processes.
• Assist in developing documentation procedures and best practices.
• Manage outgoing wire transfers and Online Transaction Entry.
• Participate in pipeline, pre and closing calls.
• Identify deal attributes requiring workarounds or manual intervention.
• Support onboarding, funding, and quality review of facilities.
• Send advance notices and close funding notices to banks.
• Apply DMAIC to improve processes.
