Johnson Controls seeks a Principal Central Utility Plant Modeling Engineer for the OpenBlue Central Utility Plant product. The role focuses on developing, calibrating, and validating detailed energy and central utility plant models to optimize plant performance and quantify energy savings.

You will train operators and collaborate with engineering teams to drive AI/ML-enabled analytics. This remote US-based position requires deep knowledge of HVAC systems, energy analytics, and lifecycle cost

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience developing, calibrating, and validating energy, HVAC, or central utility plant models.
• Experience with M&V analyses using IPMVP or equivalent methodologies.
• Experience with central utility plant systems (chilled water, hot water, steam, etc.).

Responsabilités

• Conduct site visits of central utility plants to analyze configuration, operation, performance and optimization opportunities.
• Gather, cleanse, and process data from various sources for OB CUP analysis and modeling.
• Develop, calibrate, and validate energy and central plant simulation models to estimate potential savings.
• Apply engineering judgment to validate results and troubleshoot model performance.
• Utilize AI/ML-enabled capabilities within the OpenBlue platform to improve efficiency and performance.
• Lead commissioning activities to ensure OB CUP algorithms dispatch equipment optimally.
