Job summary

Luzerne County's Senior Center is seeking a part-time Senior Center Operator 1 to plan and implement programs at the Active Adult Center, ensuring services support participant well-being and comply with Area Agency on Aging policies. The role includes nutrition record-keeping, inventory, volunteer hours, transportation scheduling, and maintaining program attendance.

Qualifications

• Three months of experience in providing direct services in a Human Services, education or a community-based setting to the aging population or to individuals who have various cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds or to individuals with disabilities.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Be a resident of Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nutrition component and ensure compliance with health and sanitation regulations.
• Monitor bulk food quality, temperature and portions; report inadequacies to the director.
• Preheat serving counter, prepare coffee and beverages; coordinate serving with volunteers.
• Coordinate washing of pots/pans and sanitize dining and kitchen areas.
• Plan and implement programs; encourage client participation and coordinate center activities.
• Schedule transportation for the center and maintain attendance and volunteer hour records.
• Attend monthly nutrition meetings and trainings; perform other duties as required.
