Job summary

Harford County Government is seeking a program director for a multipurpose senior activity center. The role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing activities for mature adults, reporting to the Senior Center Division Manager at the assigned location.

The position requires supervising staff and volunteers, coordinating with county departments, and assisting with meal services and community outreach. A valid driver's license and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• AA degree or higher in gerontology, psychology, recreation, or related field with 1 year of human services experience.
• OR High school diploma with 2 years experience in human services or public-facing customer service.
• Valid Class C non-commercial driver’s license with no more than three points.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operations of a senior activity center, including planning, implementing, overseeing, and coordinating health, educational, recreational, and nutrition activities.
• Assist with meal service, publicize center classes/events, and help participants register.
• Provide information about programs and services to seniors and the public.
• Respond to inquiries and refer to other Office on Aging programs as needed.
• Maintain records and enter data for required nutrition/health reports.
• Supervise staff and volunteers at the center.
• Recruit, motivate, and direct front desk, kitchen, and other volunteers.
• Support Congregate meal service setup, serving, and clean-up.
