Job summary

The City of Westerville, OH seeks a part-time Senior Center Chef/Kitchen Manager to develop menus and prepare meals that meet seniors' nutritional needs. You will operate a well-maintained commercial kitchen and supervise volunteers and staff to ensure timely service.

You will plan midweek and Friday lunches for 120–150 people, coordinate special event meals, and maintain high sanitation and safety standards while working 20–25 hours per week with some evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• ServSafe Level 2 Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Proficient with Google Suites (Gmail/Docs) and basic online ordering.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen activities for quality meals at the Senior Center.
• Plan and prepare meals for 120-150 attendees for lunches and special events.
• Develop, plan, coordinate and evaluate nutritious menus for seniors.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff and volunteers; manage work schedules.
• Maintain sanitation and food safety standards per Franklin County health regulations.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is functional and maintained; coordinate repairs.
• Plan events such as Pancake Breakfast and special meal occasions.
