City of Midlothian is seeking an entry‑level Senior Center assistant to support daily operations, meal preparation, and customer service. The role emphasizes a safe, clean, and welcoming environment and requires a high school diploma or GED with at least one year of experience in customer service.
Responsibilities include assisting with kitchen tasks, room setup for programs and events, maintaining facilities, and assisting with transportation as needed.
Starting Hiring Range: $15.27 - $18.70 Hourly
This purpose of this position is to assist in the daily operation of the Senior Center including preparation and cleanup of meals, customer service, and maintenance activities.
High school diploma or GED equivalent, is required.
One (1) year of customer service experience required; experience working in senior programs is preferred.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record as established by the City of Midlothian driving standards.
Food handler certificate, or ability to obtain within 3 months.
CPR certification is preferred.
Works primarily in a climate-controlled office environment. Physical demands are primarily sedentary frequently requiring prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking in indoor environments. Physical demands require occasional light work (up to 25 lbs.) and the ability to reach, climb stairs/ladders, bend/stoop, and occasionally push/pull objects up to 50 lbs. up to 15 yards. Work may cause light fatigue of eyes and fingers because of routine use of motor senses.
Ability to work flexible hours and holidays as needed.
