JOB SUMMARY:

The Community Center Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and execution of all activities within the community center. This role ensures that the programs offered at the Community Center promote individual and community engagement by coordinating activities that promote the physical, mental and social wellness of participants that align with the mission and values of CommunityCare.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a diverse calendar of activities tailored to the interests and needs of the community.This may include health and wellness events, arts and crafts, educational workshops, social gatherings, and special events.
  • Coordinate all aspects of activity logistics, including scheduling, vendor and room management, supply acquisition and budget allocation.
  • Promote community center activities through various channels, including social media, flyers, and newsletters, to encourage participation from all community members.
  • Maintain accurate records of participation and make adjustments to activities as needed to ensure they meet the desired outcomes.
  • Works closely with community members, agencies, and vendors. Exercises excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as a passion for identifying engaging and enjoyable activities for all age groups. Works collaboratively with other staff members, volunteers, and external partners to ensure the smooth execution of activities that enhance community engagement and well-being.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to safety regulations and provide a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of activities and programs, making adjustments as needed to improve participant experience and outcomes.
  • Manage activity document records and budgets, track expenses, and identify potential funding sources.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to build rapport with diverse groups of people to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. Adherence to CommunityCare values and professional code of conduct.
  • Ability to identify and address challenges that may arise during activity planning and execution.
  • Ability to motivate and supervise volunteers.
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and manage multiple tasks effectively within deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software tools quickly to support daily tasks.
  • Successful completion of Healthcare Sanctions background

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. An equivalent mix of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years’ experience in activity planning and development.
  • Must be BLS certified or obtain within 6 months of employment.
