Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is hiring a Senior Cement Plant Leader in Nazareth, PA to oversee production, maintenance and quality while ensuring safety, environmental compliance and policy adherence. The role reports to the Regional VP of Operations and guides a field-based, performance-focused team.

You will drive cost efficiency, plan production, manage budgets, and shape long-term improvement and stay-in-business strategies, collaborating with union leadership and local stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or proven leadership in cement plant operations.
• Extensive cement industry experience with processes, maintenance, reliability and operations.
• Experience leading in challenging environments, driving change and accountability.
• Ability to prioritize, decide, and execute in a fast-paced industrial setting.
• Experience in unionized manufacturing and labor-management relations.
• Willingness to spend substantial time in field with PPE in outdoor heavy industrial environments.

Job description

This position is responsible for leading and managing cement plant operations and all related services, including production, maintenance, quality, while ensuring compliance with labor, safety, environmental, and corporate policies and regulations. Reporting to the Regional Vice President of Operations, this role is based in Nazareth, PA and will play a critical role in driving operational performance and long-term plant success.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. Alternatively, a proven track record of leadership within a cement manufacturing environment in production, maintenance, or plant operations.
• Extensive cement industry experience with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, maintenance, reliability, and plant operations.
• Demonstrated leadership success in challenging operational environments, with the ability to drive change, improve performance, and build trust across the organization.
• Strong ability to prioritize competing demands, make sound operational decisions, and execute effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment and building productive labor-management relationships.
• Proven ability to lead from the front through a visible field presence, engaging employees, identifying issues firsthand, and driving accountability.
• Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, continuous improvement, and team development.
• Project management or major capital project experience is preferred.
• This role operates within an outdoor, heavy industrial cement plant environment with exposure to weather, noise, dust, and large mobile equipment. The successful candidate must be comfortable spending significant time in the field and engaging directly with plant personnel. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
