Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to support the Center for Cancer Immunology Research. The role involves performing cell-based assays, maintaining aseptic processes, and collaborating across study teams to ensure rigorous quality and timely results.

Required: Bachelor's degree in basic science, 6–10 years of related experience, and 1–3 years of supervisory responsibility; MT (ASCP) certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in basic science or a related field is required.
• 6–10 years of related experience, plus 1–3 years supervisory experience.
• Preferred: Medical Laboratory Scientist Certification (MT ASCP).

Responsibilities

• Perform cell-based assays and manage cell manipulation/evaluation procedures.
• Supervise or perform cryopreservation, enrichment, purification, and culture tasks.
• Review records of clinical manufacturing or process development studies.
• Identify bottlenecks and lead improvements in development processes.
• Assist with audits and investigations, and support quality assurance activities.
• Ensure aseptic handling and accurate documentation per regulations.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain training compliance and data confidentiality.
