Axle is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to support the National Institutes of Health/Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. The role involves independently providing laboratory services, performing molecular and serology testing, and maintaining accurate records.

Required: Accredited CLS training and a BS/MT certification or equivalent; 3+ years in a clinical lab is preferred. The position offers a market-competitive salary range and benefits including PTO, 401K, and flexible spending accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution is required.
• Accredited clinical laboratory training program in laboratory science
• Minimum of three years in a clinical diagnostic laboratory environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent support services to satisfy NIH CC operational objectives.
• Perform molecular-based and serology testing as required.
• Maintain quality control, record patient test results, and ensure compliant documentation.
• Troubleshoot lab equipment issues and notify staff of problems.
• Organize daily workload and manage reagents and supplies for specialty testing.
• Communicate with medical personnel regarding specimen collection procedures and test results.
• Ensure compliance with safety, QC/QA/QI policies, and accreditation requirements.
