Job summary

Strand Therapeutics, a Boston-based biotech, seeks a Senior/Principal Associate Scientist to join the mRNA Programming group, advancing RNA LNP therapeutics in oncology and beyond. You will lead experiments, drive discovery, and collaborate across teams to shape next-generation RNA medicines.

You will design robust assays, analyze complex data, and communicate findings in cross-functional forums, contributing to Strand’s mission to unlock genetic medicines with precise control.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Biological Sciences or related discipline; 2–3+ years in cell biology/immunology.
• 3–5+ years experience with flow cytometry, cell culture, in vitro experiments with mammalian cells.
• Understanding of flow cytometry design and analysis; capable of >12 color panels.
• Experience with primary immune cells, macrophages or PBMCs; working with LNP/mRNA transfection is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and execution of in vitro immunological and cellular assays to characterize engineered primary cells.
• Develop ex vivo sample processing and multiparameter flow cytometry readouts.
• Handle primary cells, including isolation, culture and transfection with mRNA therapeutics.
• Design and execute immune cell assays to assess efficacy and toxicity of drug candidates.
• Employ standard assays to evaluate research material quality and data integrity.
• Ensure data is captured in electronic lab notebooks and databases.
• Summarize data in study reports and present updates at cross-functional meetings.
