Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers is seeking a CEI Project Manager with extensive TDOT experience to lead multiple CEI projects and mentor junior staff. The role focuses on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to TDOT standards, while coordinating with clients and stakeholders.

The candidate should have a civil engineering background, strong leadership, and a track record of managing complex multidisciplinary teams in TDOT contexts. Travel and field presence may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of CEI experience, including TDOT projects.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage all CEI project aspects, ensuring TDOT/municipality compliance, scope, schedule and budget.
• Serve as primary client contact with TDOT, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Supervise Project Administrators, Senior Inspectors, and field staff.
• Provide leadership and oversight to CEI teams across projects.
• Review docs, pay estimates, change orders; ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate field activities, inspections, testing, and closeout processes.
• Lead meetings and provide status updates to leadership and clients.
• Support business development and client relationship management.
