Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers is seeking a Sr. CEI Inspector with extensive experience in Construction Engineering & Inspection, especially TDOT projects. The role supports field inspections, surveys, and quality assurance across TN sites including Murfreesboro or Chattanooga.

The successful candidate will oversee lower-level inspectors, coordinate testing, and ensure conformance to specifications. Travel, a clean MVR, and a drug screen are required; a strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of CEI experience including TDOT projects.
• Valid TN Driver's license with a clean MVR.
• Willingness to travel daily or overnight as project needs.
• Successful completion of drug screening and background check.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction work and perform field tests.
• Coordinate and manage lower-level inspectors.
• Perform daily field inspections and maintain inspection records.
• Participate in punch lists, testing and commissioning.
• Track quality assurance progress and document turnovers.
• Set own project deadlines and provide on-the-job training.
