Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers, LLC is seeking a Sr. CEI Inspector to support field surveying, construction layout, and inspections in Murfreesboro, TN (with assignments in Chattanooga).

This role handles complex inspection work, coordinates junior inspectors, and reports to the Project Administrator. The ideal candidate has extensive CEI experience, a TN driver’s license, and the ability to travel; drug screening and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years CEI experience including work on TDOT projects.
• Endurance to work outdoors in extreme heat and cold.
• Must be trustworthy and responsible.
• Daily travel or overnight stays may be required.
• Valid TN Driver's license with a clean MVR.
• Successful completion of drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• The Inspector will be assigned to work in Murfreesboro or Chattanooga, TN.
• Perform highly complex field surveying and construction layout tasks, inspect construction work, and conduct field tests.
• Coordinate and manage lower level inspectors.
• Work under supervision of the Project Administrator to achieve goals.
• Set own project deadlines and provide on-the-job training to new employees.
• Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specs, and codes through inspection duties.
• Perform daily field inspections and maintain inspection records.
• Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
• Track quality assurance progress and support area/equipment turnovers.
