Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a Sr. CEI Inspector with extensive experience in Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI), especially on TDOT projects.

The position involves field surveying, inspection, and leading lower level inspectors in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment. The role requires travel to Murfreesboro or Chattanooga, TN, strong technical judgment, and the ability to train staff.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of CEI experience including work on TDOT projects.
• Ability to perform field surveying and construction inspection.
• Valid TN driver's license and clean MVR.
• Willingness to travel daily or overnight stays.
• Successful completion of drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• The Inspector will be assigned to work in Murfreesboro or Chattanooga, TN.
• Performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests
• Coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors.
• Performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Sets own project deadlines.
• Provides on the job training to new employees.
• Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
• Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
• Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
• Tracks quality assurance progress.
• Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
