Job summary

WSP USA in the Tampa, FL area seeks a CEI Senior Inspector for major long-term highway and bridge projects. You will be part of the Florida Construction Management Team, conducting inspections, ensuring contract compliance, and documenting daily activities on site.

The role requires extensive field inspection experience, knowledge of FDOT requirements, and ability to coordinate with contractors and stakeholders. On-site work with potential travel and flexible hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 4 years of relevant construction inspection experience; minimum 2 years CEI inspection on road/bridge projects.
• Knowledge of road and bridge construction concepts, terminology and principles.
• Familiarity with construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and perform independent technical assignments for inspection of roadway and bridge construction.
• Verify that activities comply with contract documents, specifications, plans, permits and procedures.
• Perform materials testing per FDOT requirements and scope of services.
• Maintain detailed records and complete Daily Work Reports in the client’s database.
• Prepare documentation to validate payments to roadway contractors.
• Monitor Work Zone Traffic Control and ensure safety and compliance on site.
• Ensure environmental permit compliance and adherence to safety policies.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, utilities, FDOT and project staff.
