Job summary

WSP is seeking a CEI Senior Inspector for major highway and bridge projects in the greater Tampa, FL area. You will inspect, test, and document construction activities, ensuring compliance with contract documents and FDOT requirements.

The role requires 4 years of inspection experience (2+ CEI on roads/bridges), strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently or in teams. Occasional travel and after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years of relevant construction inspection experience; at least 2 years CEI inspection on roads/bridges.
• Familiarity with road/bridge construction concepts, codes and record-keeping.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel, nights/weekends, and emergency response as needed.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and perform independent technical inspections on roadway/bridge construction.
• Verify conformance with contract documents, specs, permits, and procedures.
• Perform materials testing per FDOT requirements using standard tools.
• Maintain detailed records and enter Daily Work Reports.
• Prepare documentation to validate payments to contractors.
• Monitor Work Zone Traffic Control and ensure safety compliance.
