Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) in Sevierville, TN, is seeking a Senior CEI Inspector to join our team. This role leads construction inspection for highway and bridge projects and fosters strong client, contractor, and partner relationships.

You will document field activities, verify work, manage payments, and review plans to ensure TDOT compliance. Proficiency with tablet-based tools to access plans in real time is required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Ability to walk construction sites in various weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
• Completion of pre-employment screenings.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• ICE is a drug-free workplace.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• TDOT Certifications: TDEC Level 1, TDOT HMA Roadway, TDOT Concrete Field Tech/ACI grade 1, Workzone Traffic Control/Flagging

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with client managers, serving as the client’s representative in interactions with contractors and vendors.
• Oversee and document contractor field activities for highway and bridge construction projects, primarily under TDOT.
• Enforce contract terms while documenting daily construction activities, processing contractor payments, and managing work orders.
• Record daily construction progress and contractor performance using established systems and platforms.
• Prepare contractor payment estimates based on verified work completion and approved quantities.
• Draft and process work order authorizations for adjustments to construction items, including increases or decreases in scope.
• Coordinate closely with contractors to align field activities with project schedules and requirements
• Utilize tablet-based technology to record field documentation and access project plans, specifications, and construction standards in real time.
