Job summary

GFT, a leading AEC firm, is seeking Construction Engineering Inspectors (Levels II-IV) for the Beaumont, TX project suite. You will perform advanced field inspections on complex roadway and bridge works, ensuring compliance with TxDOT standards and coordinating with project managers.

Responsibilities include leading inspector teams, running meetings, and maintaining accurate documentation with SiteManager and Microsoft 365 tools.

Qualifications

• 4-10+ years of TxDOT or TxDOT-equivalent inspection experience on complex roadway/bridge projects.
• Lead inspection teams and represent CEI firm in TxDOT meetings.
• Strong knowledge of TxDOT specifications, TMUTCD, and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect roadway, bridge, drainage, earthwork, concrete, asphalt, walls, and traffic control.
• Ensure compliance with TxDOT specs, plans and special provisions.
• Communicate progress and risks with CEI and TxDOT PMs.
• Lead staff for Inspector II–III; assign daily tasks and mentor.
• Run project meetings and coordinate pre-activity and construction meetings.
• Review contractor operations, material testing, and quality control.
• Prepare and audit Daily Work Reports, pay quantities, diaries, and photo records.
• Monitor work zone traffic control and TMUTCD compliance.
• Support RFIs, submittals, estimates, change orders, audits, closeout.
