Pembroke & Co., Inc. in south-central Maine is seeking a Freight Truck Dispatcher to manage day-to-day dispatch for a growing team of Class A CDL drivers, keeping loads moving and issues resolved quickly.

This hands-on role requires proven dispatch experience in trucking, the ability to adapt to delays, strong communication with drivers and internal teams, and a collaborative mindset within a close-knit, family-owned operation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on tractor-trailer dispatch experience.
• Experience in carrier dispatch (CDL Class A drivers; dry van and/or flatbed) environment.
• Working knowledge of ICC regulations and safety awareness.
• Experience with Google Suite, Profit Tools, FourKites, and TMS Scheduling.
• Ability to troubleshoot and predict problems before they arise.
• Ability to think and act creatively to provide solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch and manage schedules for Class A CDL drivers, assign loads, and adjust schedules as needed
• Utilize TMS & logistic software to coordinate routes, loads, deliveries, and pick-ups
• Serve as the main point of contact for drivers and ensure all parties are informed of load status, delays, and changes
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer inquiries, delays, breakdowns, and rerouting needs quickly
• Partner with brokerage contacts and internal teams to ensure efficient load planning and execution
• Coordinate with brokerage department to qualify carriers and administer paperwork
• Maintain accurate records, track load progress, and ensure on-time pickup and delivery performance
• Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations
