Mercy seeks an experienced Senior Clinical Documentation Specialist to advance the integrity of inpatient medical records. You will review records to identify missing or vague documentation, coordinate with clinical providers and coding staff, and ensure timely completion while collaborating with quality, compliance, and medical leadership.

Qualifications

• RN, BSN, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CIC, CCDS, or CDIP required
• 3 years CDI experience and 1 year in nursing, inpatient coding, UM/CM
• Strong data analysis and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records to identify missing or vague documentation
• Communicate documentation needs to clinical providers and/or coding
• Collaborate with coding, quality, compliance, medical staff and leadership
• Provide data reports and educational support for documentation elements
• Support initiatives to improve documentation quality across care teams
