Job summary

Solid Power is seeking a Senior Scientist I to lead catholyte development within the R&D group. The role focuses on advancing electrolyte technology, understanding transport phenomena and interfacial stability, and translating fundamental insights into performance improvements for solid-state batteries.

The candidate will mentor a small team, work with modeling, engineering, and manufacturing teams to meet scale-up objectives, and stay current with industry trends while protecting IP through

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's with significant industry experience in a related field.
• Strong background in electrochemical fundamentals and data analysis.
• Experience leading complex R&D projects and mentoring scientists.

Responsibilities

• Lead catholyte development within R&D and set technical priorities.
• Develop understanding of transport, interfacial stability, and microstructure.
• Mentor scientists, supervise 1–3 team members, and conduct performance reviews.
• Communicate findings to technical teams, leadership, and collaborators.
• Collaborate with modeling, engineering, and manufacturing to meet scale-up goals.
