Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Merchant to lead category strategy and financial management for a moderately complex category at its Bentonville, AR base. You will drive pricing, assortment, and supplier decisions to meet business objectives while collaborating across channels to optimize customer experience and deliver value through data-driven insights.

You will manage a team, oversee budgeting and forecasting, and support product development while ensuring alignment with company standards and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field and 3 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; negotiating with third-party suppliers; supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned with long-term business objectives, incorporating market trends and customer insights.
• Manage profit and loss responsibilities, including pricing, promotions, and inventory decisions to meet financial targets.
• Lead supplier negotiations, establish performance metrics, and oversee supplier relationships to ensure optimal terms and execution.
• Drive channel strategy decisions and collaborate with supply chain partners to optimize product availability and customer experience.
• Oversee team performance, provide coaching, and foster a results-driven work environment.
• Utilize data analysis to inform decisions and continuously improve category performance.
• Support assortment planning, modular layouts, and promotional feature execution across channels.
