Xcel Energy is seeking a Principal Category Manager to lead enterprise-wide category strategies across complex sourcing initiatives. You will direct cross-functional teams to develop and execute sourcing events, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier risk.

Travel up to 20% is required; a Bachelor’s degree and eight years in supply chain are required, with five years leading negotiations. The role offers hybrid work with on-site collaboration three days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or related field.
• Eight years of supply chain/industry experience including category management, supplier relationship management, sourcing, and contract management.
• Five years of experience leading complex contract negotiations and project management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing and sourcing systems.
• Up to 20% travel; driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of enterprise-wide category strategies.
• Perform spend and cost analysis and develop strategies to maximize value.
• Manage supplier research, risk profiles, and monitor supplier performance.
• Develop and execute complex sourcing events and negotiate contracts.
• Coordinate with logistics to implement inventory strategies.
• Lead supplier relationship management and KPI tracking.
• Ensure contract terms are met and manage changes.
• Collaborate with Legal/Security on contract risk elements.
