Job summary

Trane Technologies in Davidson, NC is seeking a Category Manager to own the Tier 2 Electrical Components category within the procurement team. The role focuses on strategy, supplier base, and market awareness to deliver value and continuity across a large, complex spend.

You will engage internal partners and manage supplier performance. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in procurement, strong negotiation and collaboration skills, and a track record of influencing in a matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business, supply chain, operations, engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of procurement/sourcing experience in large-scale, complex categories.
• Proven experience negotiating and managing vendors in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality and other partners to capture category requirements and ensure supplier qualification.
• Transition suppliers as needed and support NPD procurement through preferred supplier programs.
• Develop and execute detailed category strategies and supplier programs.
• Manage contract lifecycle, ensure supply continuity and optimize value via RFx.
• Monitor and mitigate supplier risk across financial, capacity, quality and compliance.
• Deliver category productivity through cost/value initiatives and supplier reviews.
