Job summary

Trane Technologies in Davidson, NC is hiring a Category Manager - Tier 2 Electrical Components to own space, strategy, supply base and performance within the Wire Harness Assembly category. You will stay current on market trends and work with internal teams.

This role requires 5+ years of procurement experience, strong negotiation and supplier management skills, and collaborative, cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of procurement/sourcing experience with large-scale, complex, and/or regional/global categories of spend.
• Demonstrated success in assessing, negotiating and managing vendors.
• Collaborative, facilitation, consultation and conflict resolution skills; you will be a trusted business partner for internal and external stakeholders.
• Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, quality) to capture category requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality.
• Partner with procurement teams to transition suppliers as needed; support NPD procurement through preferred supplier programs.
• Develop and execute detailed category strategy and expand the Preferred Supplier Program.
• Manage contract lifecycle and compliance, ensure supply continuity and achieve best total value via RFx activities.
• Monitor and mitigate supplier risk (financial, capacity, quality, compliance).
• Deliver category productivity through price/value analysis and continuous improvement projects.
• Oversee SRM and supplier reviews to meet Quality/Cost/Delivery targets.
