Job summary

Liberty Mutual is seeking a Senior Analyst for USRM Catastrophe Management in Seattle, Boston, or remote US locations. The role focuses on turning hazard research into underwriting rules for hurricane, earthquake, wildfire, and severe storm exposure and shaping state-level guidance used in quoting systems.

You will perform business research to improve processes and support decisions that drive profitable growth, with potential in-office requirements depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 3+ years of experience required.
• Quantitative field preferred (e.g., Mathematics, Economics, Statistics).
• Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, statistical principles and methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, data visualization) and in SAS/Python.
• Strong planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research to obtain information such as financial data, product or market profiles, or business process flows.
• Collaborate with other departments and conduct primary or secondary research as needed.
• Develop reports, proposals for action, or implementation plans based on analysis and present to management.
• Quantify hazard risk (hurricane, earthquake, wildfire, severe storm) to inform underwriting guidance.
• Translate risk assessments and regulatory requirements into underwriting rules and deliverables.
• Support day-to-day catastrophe management and respond to data calls and ad hoc guidance.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activities to meet customer expectations and ensure prompt service.
