Job summary

Hamilton Group seeks a Senior Claims Adjuster for Casualty/ specialty claims, with remote or Richmond, VA based work and hybrid possibilities. You will handle primary and excess placements, mentor future adjusters, and collaborate with underwriting and management across the Hamilton Select platform.

You will review claims, analyze policy language, provide coverage and damages analysis, and draft legal letters while ensuring timely reserving and cost control.

Qualifications

• 3+ years progressive claims handling or related insurance experience.
• Experience in Excess and Surplus market preferred.
• Multi‑jurisdictional claims and litigation experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; JD desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review claims and related systems and processes.
• Analyze policy language and contracts.
• Provide coverage, liability, and damages analysis; reserve and pay.
• Draft DISCLAIMERS AND RESERVATION OF RIGHTS LETTERS.
• Negotiate settlements and control expenses.
• Mentor staff and identify procedural improvements.
